As you’re aware this has become the year of frantic knitting/crocheting of small warm articles, which have been soooo generously made for Kidz First, Hospice, and Christchurch.

Then it SNOWED in Auckland, who would have thought, while not to the levels of our more traditional snowy parts of the country we are not geared for such weather behaviours.

It came to my attention via the News that there are children here in Auckland, who do not have any footwear at all. These children are trying to keep warm and learn at the same time.

Keeping in mind our generosity here in Auckland, I put out a request for each member, where possible to make one pair of slippers and a beanie to go with them. I made a phone call offering this opportunity, also requesting the items stay at school due to the fact the children are there for most of their days.
