A competition for Creative Knitters

The New Zealand Steel Gallery is calling for creatives craftspeople to contribute to an installation of knitted dogs. The exhibition will be a decorative dog show with ribbons for the best knitted breeds. The exhibition is from 14 October – 14 November 2011.
- Pattern Dogs (patterns available from email@example.com)
- Unique self-created dogs
- Dogs that don’t exist… but should (avant garde section)
To Enter: Get an entry form from the gallery, Franklin: The Centre, 12 Massey Ave, Pukekohe. Or enter online at www.franklinarts.org.nz.
Entries close Friday 7 October, all entries must be submitted by that day.
The gallery will have some patterns that you can collect for free if you want a starting point and ideas. You can knit according to these patterns or you can completely create your own dog.
No entry fee, but there is a compulsory $5.00 donation to the SPCA for each entry.
All entries will be displayed in the dog installation. Entrants may sell their dogs at normal gallery conditions of sale (details included with the entry form).
A special judge will be announced to award the prizes for each category. Prizes will be announced later. Winners will receive ribbons at a special grand opening.
